A teenager is accused of planning a mass shooting at an Indiana high school on Valentine’s Day, according to multiple news reports, which cite authorities.
Trinity Shockley, 18, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder, intimidation: threat to commit terrorism, and conspiracy to commit intimidation: threat to commit terrorism, according to online Morgan County court records.

It’s unclear if Shockley has entered a plea or retained an attorney.
According to a probable cause affidavit obtained by NBC News, ABC News and CBS affiliate WLKY, the FBI’s Sandy Hook tip line contacted the Mooresville Police Department about Shockley’s alleged plan to commit a mass shooting at Mooresville High School on Valentine’s Day.
The affidavit also states the tipster claimed their friend Shockley, who reportedly identifies as a transgender male and goes by the name Jamie, “has access to an AR15 and has just ordered a bulletproof vest,” NBC News reports. Shockley is a 12th grade student at the school, which is located about 19 miles southwest of Indianapolis.
The tipster added that Shockley “admired” Nikolas Cruz, who perpetrated the deadly mass shooting at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., on Feb. 14, 2018, the affidavit says, per the outlet.
Cruz was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the shooting that claimed the lives of 14 students and three staff members.
Shockley also allegedly sent Snapchat messages under the name “Jamie” indicating a plan for the shooting, which read, “Parkland part two” and “I’ve been planning this for a YEAR,” ABC News reports, citing the affidavit.
According to the affidavit, authorities obtained a search warrant for Shockley’s home on Wednesday, Feb. 12, and allegedly found pictures of Cruz and other mass shooters in a bedroom and a notebook with violent illustrations as well as the words “kill,” “bang,” and “DIE DIE DIE,” ABC News reports.
Shockley allegedly claimed to police to be “joking” about committing the shooting, the affidavit says, per NBC News. The affidavit further alleges Shockley claimed to being a victim of bullying and said they wanted to receive mental health treatment, but that it was denied, per the outlet.
In a statement to ABC News acknowledging the student’s arrest, the Mooresville School district said Shockley “will not return to the school.”
