A Louisiana mother is speaking out after disturbing videos showed her four-year-old son getting hit by several classmates at his elementary school as a teacher watches and laughs.
The boy’s mother, Olevia Robinson, told WAFB that the videos were recorded by teachers in mid-January at Riveroaks Elementary School, where her son attended Pre-K classes.

Robinson said she had scheduled a parent-teacher meeting after her son’s teachers told her that her son experienced behavioral issues. But after receiving the footage, she reached out to the principal of the school instead.
One of the videos showed a teacher shouting at a student to stop punching Robinson’s son as another teacher appeared to chuckle. In a separate video, the boy, who is wearing a yellow jacket, is seen getting hit again.
Robinson claimed the teachers told the principal that they videotaped the classroom fight because “they were trying to record [her son’s] behavior in the classroom, but that video didn’t show anything about my son’s behavior. It showed children that was hitting on him.”
“He may have not been physically hurt, seriously hurt, but mentally he was hurt,” Robinson said. “Emotionally, he was hurt. His trust was hurt. He can’t trust anyone at the school.”
“To view that behavior by the adults in the classroom is beyond appalling, it’s beyond disappointing, and it’s downright disgusting,” East Baton Rouge Schools Superintendent LaMont Cole told WAFB. “I do want to say to the families, don’t let the two employees who made bad decisions not be a reflection of all of the other employees who come and do it right every single day.”
The two teachers were placed on administrative leave, per WBRZ.
“My son has come home and told me multiple stories about how he has tried to stop fights on the playground and the teacher’s stand there and don’t do anything about it,” a parent told WBRZ. It’s multiple grades and they would bully and start fights on the little kids. He has said that he’s gotten pushed down before trying to step up and stand up for another kid in his grade. So I’m not surprised.”
